Budget Proposals Would Result in Ending Community Relations Service, The Hill, 2/23/18

President Trump’s recent budget proposal, if accepted by Congress, could have devastating results for various federally funded conflict resolution and peacebuilding efforts.  I posted recently on the Alliance for Peacebuilding’s assessment of the impact on USIP and other more internationally focused efforts.

Grande Lum, who was formerly the director of the Community Relations Service (CRS) and is now at Ohio State, wrote this piece in The Hill about the proposed elimination of CRS: the primary group that works in community situations to resolve conflict and prevent violence.
