Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, Summer Institute 2021

The Summer Peacebuilding Program (SPP), is a three-week long (six-week online)intensive training program designed to bridge the theory and practice of building peace in societies that are emerging from conflict, violence or war.

In five years, SPP has trained 69 students from diverse backgrounds and experiences. To learn more about the participants’ experiences, view the student blogs from 2015201620172018, and 2019.

The SPP builds on the ‘Peace’ dimension that was explored for two years (2013 and 2014) in the Peace, Trade and Development program.
