Higher education institutions have historically played a vital role in resolving conflict through education, training, and research. This year’s International Education Week offers an opportunity to celebrate the significance of international education in addressing the world’s modern-day conflicts. Join USIP and NAFSA: Association of International Educators as we explore best practices in peacebuilding shared by experts from the peacebuilding and international education communities. The event will examine ties between higher education and conflict resolution and consider innovative approaches for creating—and sustaining—more peaceful societies. Join the conversation on Twitter with #IEW2019. The event will be November 19 from 10-12 at USIP in DC.
