Manual for Colleges & Universities Developing Peace & Conflict Programs, Now Available online (Free)

If you are looking at developing a peace and conflict studies program, consider this free online resource! It is the collective work of a number of professionals in the field.

The much anticipated 2nd edition of the “Manual for Colleges & Universities Developing Programs in Peace & Conflict Studies” is now available online.  It is freely downloadable.  Much credit goes to Bill Warters of Wayne State University for taking the lead on this.  Also Julie Shedd of George Mason University and Jen Batton of Conflict Education Consultants were instrumental in the project.

If you are with a college or university and thinking about developing a program in peacebuilding, this should be your first stop!  Other resources I would recommend are my book on community colleges and peacebuilding, my USIP guide to developing a program,  and my list of online guides to programs.

I am a career coach, consultant, and head of a not for profit - the Forage Center - that offers humanitarian education training. I also teach at George Mason University and Drexel University. A one time lawyer, I spent many years teaching in a community college where I was a Fulbright U.S. Scholar teaching in Estonia. I'm the author of Peace Jobs: A Student's Guide to Starting a Career Working for Peace (IAP 2016). I've been married to my best friend for over 31 years and we have two well adjusted adult children who teach me something new everyday. I live in Rockville, Maryland.
