One of the foremost theorists and practitioners in the field is Lisa Schirch. Her recent piece on “The State of Peacebuilding 2018: Twelve Observations” is worth reading as the year closes out. Much of it is hopeful such as the expanding acceptance of the notion of peacebuilding, but other points like the failure to consider local innovation, are not so optimistic.
