Rockville, MD Launches “Flags Over Rockville” Map

By: David J. Smith, September 22, 2017

I wanted to do a “shout out” for my hometown of Rockville, MD.  We are a city of about 65,000 in a county (Montgomery County) of 1.4 million, on the northwest suburbs of DC.   Our city is one of the most diverse communities in the U.S.  To celebrate that diversity, the city decided to place international flags throughout the city center: 190 flags of countries that are members of the UN.  Here is an article about the effort.

This week the city launch an app that lets you find the location of flags in the city.  It’s a great way to  connect with your international culture and  being an American.  Every flag is paired with the U.S. flag.  Click here or below for app.
