Feature Story on Yemeni Students in U.S., Washington Post, 2/15/17

By: David J. Smith,  February 16, 2017

A few weeks ago I wrote about my experiences at Northern Virginia Community College working with a group of Yemeni students in the Community College Initiative program (“Supporting Peacebuilders from Conflict Zones,” 1/30/17). The students were featured in an article in today’s print and yesterday’s online edition of the Washington Post.

It would be a tragedy if these students were required to return to worn-torn Yemen.  Finding a way to keep them in the U.S. needs to be done.
