I received this announcement from John Liffiton at Scottsdale Community College in Scottsdale, AZ. This is a good program that is offered for Genocide Awareness Week.  The flyer is attached.

Scottsdale Community College’s annual genocide conference, Genocide Awareness Week: Not on Our Watch, runs from 11 to 16 April.  The focus is on different genocides ranging from the Armenian genocide to the Holocaust to the Congo and others as well.  This year there will be three Holocaust survivors, a survivor from the DRC and children of both survivors and perpetrators speaking.  Besides those speakers, there are presentations on the legal aspects of genocide, PTSD, South America, Armenia, Syria, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Native Americans and the FDR administration and what it knew about the Holocaust.  There are also educational exhibits on Armenia and the Holocaust.  The last day of the conference consists of a workshop for educators that is being given by Genocide Studies of California.  The conference is free and open to the public.  Scottsdale Community College is located at 9000 E. Chaparral Street, Scottsdale, Arizona 85256.  For more information call John Liffiton at 480-423-6447.
