Dr. Jess Bonnan-White facilitates a conversation on sustainability in disaster response with Dr. Maritza Jauregui, Associate Professor of Sustainability, Stockton University.
Maritza Jauregui, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Sustainability, Stockton University
Growing and working in low-income communities where chromium blooms in recreational fields were common and where the dumping of construction debris and other unwanted materials was expected, Jauregui became extremely interested in the process by which populations become vulnerable to environmental health threats and the ways in which this can be changed. Jauregui’s research focuses on the social, economic and historical factors that produce vulnerable communities and on sustainable solutions to promote resilience.
