Acquaint: A Community for Cultural Networking

Recently, I meet with Katherine Mahon from Acquaint. I was impressed by their mission. I wanted to share about the group below.

Acquaint is a community of volunteers who engage in cultural networking to build global solidarity and social cohesion. Volunteers connect one-on-one via the Acquaint platform (https://www.acquaint.org), and a series of virtual experiences serve as icebreakers for conversation. The goal of every conversation is to actively listen, learn, and share with people across all walks of life. Acquaint connects people who are rich, poor, young, old, sheltered, or embattled in a safe way that opens everyone’s eyes to new perspectives.

Currently Acquaint volunteers reside in 30+ countries. Regardless of their background, every volunteer is equal and their goals are the same: learn about the lives of others, while giving others a glimpse into thei
r own life.
