I’m reposting this from 2017. Today is 9/11, the anniversary of the attacks on the U.S. in 2001. Tuesday’s Children was established to support the needs of survivors of 9/11 and all acts of violence. They are doing important work. I had a chance to work with the group when I was at USIP.

Today is September 11, a day we remember those lost on this day in 2001. Much has changed in America since that date, but for those who lost loved ones – including fathers and mothers – on that day, their lives have changed in immeasurable ways.
One group that was formed after 9/11 was Tuesday’s Children, an organization dedicated to supporting youth affected by 9/11 and all those who are impacted by acts of violence and extremism. One of Tuesday’s Children’s signature programs Project Common Bound works in promoting peacebuilding with youth worldwide. Also, their recently developed guide to talking with your children about terrorism is a valuable resource.
