Featured Peacebuilding Group: Ceeds of Peace

Working with young people to promote peace awareness is critical today.  Gandhi’s admonition that “If we are to teach real peace in this world, and if we are to carry on a real war against war, we shall have to begin with the children” is more important today than ever before.  This week’s Featured Peacebuilding Group,  Ceeds of Peace, is a Hawaii-based not-for-profit that works with families, educators and community leaders to improve the lives of youth.   The “ceeds” the group focuses on are critical thinking, courage, compassion, conflict resolution, commitment, collaboration, community-building, and connection.  One of its founders is Dr. Maya Soetoro-Ng, the sister of former President Obama.
