Research Says This Required Job Skill Will Trump Emotional Intelligence by the Year 2020, Inc., 11/24/17

Occasionally, I repost articles from other news outlets when I think they share important information and insights.  This article – “Research Says This Required Job Skill Will Trump Emotional Intelligence by the Year 2020” – examines the World Economic Forum’s “Future of Jobs Report” and what is sees as the 10 skills for workers to thrive in 2020.

Guess how many of them are conflict and peacebuilding related?  All of them! (And “creativity”  which did not appear on the 2015 report, is there now!)

Here’s the 2020 list

  1. Complex problem solving
  2. Critical thinking
  3. Creativity
  4. People management
  5. Coordinating with others
  6. Emotional intelligence
  7. Judgment and decision-making
  8. Service orientation
  9. Negotiation
  10. Cognitive flexibility
