Middle Eastern Heritage Celebration at San Jose City College, April 21-30, 2014

San Jose City College  (SJCC) will host its 14th Annual Middle Eastern Heritage Celebration April 21 – 30, 2014.  This year’s events include:

  • Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. in SC-204: “An Enchanted Evening of Middle Eastern Poetry” with
    David J. Smith will speak on April 30

    selections from Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, Spanish and Urdu traditions.

  • Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 12 noon in the Student Center: “Mohammed Nejad and his Ensemble.” Internationally recognized Master Musician Mohammed Nejad and his Ensemble will play musical selections.

  • Monday, April 28, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. in the Community Center, Student Center: “Confluence of Religion and Science, and the Myth of the Clash of Civilizations.”  A talk given by Dr. Hasan Rahim, SJCC Math Professor.
